The Return from the Con

After 5 pretty exhausting days we're home. What a great opportunity to see amazing artwork and to meet the artists that create them. It was a real pleasure to get to meet Irene Gallo, Gregory Manchess, John Howe, Eric Fortune, Todd Lockwood, Rebecca Guay and Donato Giancola among so many talented others. I was so excited talking to so many illustrators that I lost my voice. It was a great experience and I hope to do it again next year. Here is a pic of the booth my wife Andrea and I spent so much time building.

Comic Con
Totoro Forest Project
I was fortunate enough to be asked by the über talented Daisuke Tsutsumi to contribute a piece for a charity event called the Totoro Forest Project. This project is a benefit to save the Sayama forest on the outskirts of Tokyo, Japan, and was established by the oscar winning filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki. My little piece was done in carbon pencil and watercolor and is a little portrait of a little wind blown tree spirit protecting her tree.

Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Click the title for a link to a quick interview with Post about the VFX on the film. The interview was done early on so at this point we had to keep all of the secret plot points..uh...secret. Indy was a really fun project to work on and of course one of my earliest inspirations for wanting to work in film.
